Because it is the country that has the lowest logistics costs in the region, Honduras serves as a distribution platform for the rest of Central America.
For marketing purposes, Honduras can be divided into two regions: the north coast, including commercial and industrial capital, San Pedro Sula city; and the central region, where the political capital and largest city is located, Tegucigalpa. Both are major centers of distribution of imported goods. A single distributor or representative is usually enough to cover all of Honduras.

Tegucigalpa
This is the capital city of Honduras which has grown from a small colonial mining town. It has now become a city of approximately 1 million people and it is still growing.
San Pedro Sula
San Pedro Sula is the second largest city in the country behind the capital Tegucigalpa, and is considered the industrial center of Honduras. It is located in the northwest corner of the country, in the Valle de Sula (Sula Valley) with an estimated population of over 1,000,000 people (2019 estimate) in its metro area. The city serves as a major transportation hub for the rest of the country, while economically maintaining its base in light industry and the commercial production of coffee, bananas, beef, sugar cane, tobacco, and forestry. The cigar making business is important here, as are garment assembly plants, known as maquiladoras.
La Ceiba
This is the third most important city of Honduras and it is definitely the most vibrant one of all. It is a young city with a fabulous night life and a variety of activities ideal for tourism.
